By accessing and using IP-API ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.

2. Description of Service

IP-API provides IP geolocation lookup services, including but not limited to IP address to location mapping, ISP identification, and network information. The service is provided via web interface and API access.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit malware or malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Resell or redistribute our data without permission
  • Engage in any activity that disrupts the Service
  • Stalk, harass, or harm individuals using location data

5. API Usage

When using our API, you agree to:

  • Respect rate limits and usage quotas
  • Not share your API credentials with third parties
  • Implement proper error handling in your applications
  • Credit IP-API when required by your subscription plan

6. Data Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate geolocation data, we do not guarantee 100% accuracy. IP geolocation is an approximation based on available data and should not be used as the sole source for critical decisions. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on IP-API are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without explicit permission. GeoLite2 data is provided by MaxMind under their licensing terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IP-API shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service.

9. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms and Conditions periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
